The Seychelles Minister for Finance, Trade and the Blue Economy Jean-Paul Adam has launched consultations to welcome the private sector’s views on what should be included in the jurisdiction’s 2016 national budget.

The consultations were launched during a recent meeting organized by the Ministry with representatives from the private sector where the budgetary process was explained. The Ministry representatives made a series of presentations on the different aspects of the budget.

According to Adam’s explanation, the budget is aimed at having, through the budget process, a more committed approach from all Seychellois. He said: “We want to have a budget process which is as inclusive and participatory as possible to demystify the whole process once and for all.”

Submissions will be published and debated over the coming months before the budget is announced. Adam also announced that his Ministry will launch a dedicated website on which the public may provide their views online.
